DIVI 2.Phwoarr | The Update

They say good things come to those who wait. That has proven to be true for the Divi community, who have been patient as hell anticipating the long prophesied mega update. Divi 2.4 (or 2.Phwoarr as I hope it will now be known) has proven to be everything we could have hoped for and then some.

Closer to a new theme than a theme update, the features list is now exploding at the seams and it can be a little overwhelming. If you’re new to Divi it may feel a bit like trying to get into a show half way through the series, so I’ve broken the theme update down into ‘amazing new features’, ‘old problems solved’ and ‘missed opportunities’ so everyone can catch up and get the most out of the latest and greatest Divi iteration.

  1. A tel number field in the contact form is essential for many designs yet sadly has been overlooked again :(

Agreed! Seems like plugins like contact form 7 and the various sliders need not worry just yet.

  2. Thanks! I almost feel overwhelmed by this update that gives us control of so much!
I agree with you on the footer-part though; I keep it on my own site, because I’m happy to link to them from my site, but I would like the opporturnity to remove it from customers sites as some are not too happy to link to anyone in footercredits (even to me). Still need for Divi Booster I guess… :)
Have a great one Gritty, keep up the good work!

Thank you Veronika. I think you’re right on the Divi Booster / Footer issue. It also means installing a child theme which from what Elegant Themes have stated in their recent blogs is something they were looking to minimise. Still, an awesome update all the same.

      Hi Nelson,

It’s hard to say if editor will fix your issue. If you send me a link to your site to stephen[AT]gritty-social.com with a few details, I’ll take a look and see if I can help you :)

      Cheers
